Guys, I'm I the only one getting fed up with the emo nonesense? ''Kill your brother or kill yourself''? what kind of reasoning is that! Oh and I'm going to flee the village because I can't get what I want? Don't get me started on sasuke too. Why does everything have to have egotism as the root cause? On another note why did hashirama not tell madara to eff off instead of (attempting to) willingly kill himself before his brother! bloody emos

Well they haven't played any Hawthorne Heights yet, so we should still be safe.

"Getting" implies it's something that's happening right now. Considering Sasuke has been part of the series since episode one, I daresay it has always been emo.

Seriously, his raison d'etre has always been revenge, which is a boring and usually poorly executed motive.

If by "emo" you mean emotional, then yes. Hashirama is explaining Madara's turn to "evil". Through the story the meaning of a shinobi and village is explained. As a story in general progresses, you can- no, you should expect more emotions to be conveyed. This overall builds character development. If no "emo" things were to happen, the world would seem less realistic and generally not move as much. If Sasuke wouldn't have left the village Naruto as a story would not be progressing how it has been for years.

Thane I get your point. However I thought that was just sasuke as a character being one dimensional

It's a fair point, the flash backs are getting old but atleast wasn't as bad as the f*cking kabuto flashbacks, I mean really who cared about that.

Kaubto's were baaaaaaaaaad!

OT: it's the background stories that makes you appreciate the Kishi's true level of storytelling, it's better he goes them one by one to not leave any loose ends!

Naruto has had a nasty childhood himself but was always able to overcome that. Gaara on the hand didn't early on, but he didn't go around with the balem blame game. If sasuke get his ambitious wish and wipes the floor with konoha, one day a kid like him will stand up and seek revenge on him for killing his people. It's a never ending emo cycle. Granted the manga appeals to so many because it offers an alternative to the black and white betrayal of people. I just think lately things have been getting too overly irrational
