Ninja who had CRAP childhoods but got over it!

You know how it goes, everyone in Naruto has some sobstory to tell about their DISTANT PAST and their DARK CHILDHOOD, the show's actually famous for that cliche but there are some characters who regardless of "who had a worse life than who" just got on with their lives. Here are some examples of that, can you think of any?

1. Iruka. Having your parents killed as a child and being orphaned is never an easy thing, no matter who you are or what kind of world you live in. Iruka may have not had it as tough as Nagato or Itachi but Iruka's childhood speaks to me more than either of those. He had his parents killed and as a result he became the class clown. He seeked attention because he had noone to give him it. There's something so real and sad in that and ugh... but he got over it! He became a stronger, healthier adult and if it wasn't for this forgiveness then let's just say we wouldn't be watching Naruto fight Obito & The Juubi right now- let's just put it like that.

2. Naruto is the obvious option. He had one of the worst childhoods a person can experience but never once complained! He never ever blamed Kurama or the village for his awful life, he just worked as hard as he could with what little he had!

3. Jiraiya. Jiraiya may have acted dumb and comedic but we all know there was a very serious side to him. It's because of this happy-go-lucky attitude he has that people forget what a tragic and unfortunate life he must've had. He was the loser of his squad, akways got rejected by Tsunade, was taking to Mount Myoboku as a kid, told he was a child of prophecy all his life and then it turns out they were just wrong? How nasty and disappointing must that be as a kid!? He lost his comrade and friend Orochimaru, his student died, he went through TWO ninja world wars, his other students died and some become evil, his sensei was killed and then he died against his own apprentice. Yet Jiraiya just wears that dumb smile as usual. Jiraiya rocked.

Gaara didn't exactly get over it aha, unless his idea of letting it go was killing people for fun :') It was Naruto's influence that luckily saved Gaara

I guess Orochimaru basically got over it, he just became twisted. I'm sure he let it go though.

I literally just wrote it all!

He went through world wars, like Itachi. He got rejected by his childhood crush, like Obito. He was the society reject, like Naruto. Look, just read it seriously- his life hasn't been too clean either.

Jiraiya didn't have a hard childhood... Kakashi should be up there too.

Jiraiya had it bad. His entire life has been one death after another, his life is literally, ALL failures. He's a cool ninja and a great character but other than Naruto, everything he has done has been a failure. He said so himself.

"Looking back, my life has really been full of nothing but faliure. Continiually rejected by Tsunade, not being able to stop my friend going to evil and unable to protect either my student or my mentor. Compared to the great deeds of the hokage my actions are all insignificant things indeed. I lived my life always believing that the lessons I learned are what haund me. I swore I'd acomplish a deed so great that it would oblitorate all my faliures. I'd die as a splendid shinobi, at least that's least that's how it's supposed to go. But my tale ending like this... The Great lord Elder prophesied that I would be the one to guide the revolution. A person who would make a great choice that will bring either peace or destruction to the world of the shinobi. I thought I would defeat Pain, stop the Akatsuki and save the world from destruction. But in the end, I failed that, too. How pitiful. How sad that this will be the end twist to the tale of Jiraiya the Gallant. What a worthless story it tourned out to be."

As for number three, he wasn't told he was the Child of Prophecy, he was told he would be the teacher of the Child of Prophecy, which he was, to Naruto. Jiraiya seemed to have a fun childhood, his rejection from Tsunade was hardly serious, they were just kids.

Naruto's childhood, although difficult, wasn't that bad. We've seen that people like Shikamaru were his friends, and he even said himself that he thought of Saru as grandfather figure. He has whined about it, he uses his past over and over to try and change other people's futures. Plus, he never had any bonds with a family, so he never had or has to suffer losing them which is much, much harder. Why do you think Naruto attaches himself to others so strongly? It's a psychological thing, attempting to fill the void.

It did take Iruka about 10 years to do so though..

It was mostly a joke, everyone's life sucks in narutoverse, that's what makes them like-able characters that people can associate with.

I've never seen anything about his mother, is that in the manga or anime?
I figured he was orphaned like everyone else.

And actually i'm not too entirely sure whether the source I heard the Rock Lee mother theory from was 100% canon. Nobodies really completely sure. I mean like, he never really showed orphan behaviour from the start- always being a happy-go-lucky, tryhard little boy yknow?

Yeah, but then again Lee never liked to show he was in a down mood, even when his inner dialogue was in turmoil he had a pleasant look on his face.

We've seen all the other K11's parents except his and Tenten's, I'm confident lee is orphaned, he's been a pivotal character enough to show at least a glimpse of his parents, they were probably ordinary citizens that were caught up in the war and suffered as a consequence. Tenten's on the other hand are probably ordinary citizens that are just useless. the only reason why Kishi ever showed Sakura's fodder parents is because she's a main point of the storyline.

Lee i think... He was too far away from his dreams and had to so much work harder than others; also the kids in academy was teasing him because they thought he was "incapable", even the teachers did not support him. We do not know about his parents; he probably does not have any or they did not support him at all. He never went emo because he was "incapable", also he did not even showed a sense of grudge to Gaara, who was almost ending his life or dreams and tried to kill him more than once. Even his teammates sucked donkey balls at supporting; Neji was despising him almost every time and all Tenten did was hyping Neji up and telling Lee that he can not win because he is not a genius. Even before things get better between them; he cared and treated nice; he save Tenten's a** after her fight with Temari and he did not go gates on Neji in their fights. He always seems kind and respectful to the others; he is also a very good guy i think.
