Well there have been a lot of threads lately about the sage being uzumaki it could possibly be true because the uzumaki r known for their long life span and Unparelleled chakra and they were best suited for becoming the host for the jinchuuriki, the sage sealed the ten tails inside of him. Kurama always refers to Rikudō Sennin as 'old man'(じじい) in the japanese raws, but it can mean 'grandpa' too.
