Give me some facts about UK housing crisis. Like the number of shortfall, and how many houses builders are told to build ever year, and how many they're actually building at the moment. And also, what're the factors that're affecting the shortfall of houses and how it could be improved.
Well, starting around 2010 approximately 100k new homes a year have been built, which is the smallest number since 1923. There are almost two million families who are searching for housing that cannot find it. The causative factors are stagnant wages, low construction rates, dramatic increase in property values, and a moratorium on mortgages. In other words, the economy's bad. The proposed plan is to build more houses which would increase the number of available homes and lower the cost, making the availability increase. It is projected that the rate of homes built per year needs to increase to 300k. On a positive note, if the building is subsidized by the government, it may not be a drag on the people because of the increased revenue from new jobs.
