Why didn't minato decapitate obito with a kunai instead of using a rasengan?

we saw minato slice through one of bees tenticles like it was nothing. Why didn't he pull out a kunai and slice obitos spine open or decapitate him? He literally could have if he wanted to. And then he could have killed obito again when he released the 9-tails.

And then, after he easily could have killed obito twice, he kills himself saying that 'you need the 9tails power to defeat madara' and doesn't tell anyone that madara is back. What was with that guy??

Minato did intend to kill him the thing is rasengan is stronger than a kunai ( no competition between the two at all) but what minato didn't know was that Obito's body is stronger than a regular person's it's made out of hashirama's clone cells. Think about it Obito was able to fend off Suigestu's attack with the broad sword with one arm with no damage done.

Suigestu also got tossed by bee so I don't know if he's strong enough to really verify that decapitation wouldn't work. I think obitos body would be more resistant to things like rasengan (which are brute force, like a hammer) then to kunai (which provide cutting power, like an axe) I mean, which would you want to use when dealing with a tree?
