Let me list them:
Kanto, the first region is for generation one pokemon, or 1-151.
Johto, the second region is for generation two pokemon, or 152-251.
Hoenn, the third region is for generation three pokemon, or 252-383.
Sinnoh, the fourth region is for generation four pokemon, or 384-493.
Unova, the fifth region is for generation five pokemon, or 494-649.

I am telling you now you wil not regret picking up these games, whether by ROM or by eBay. Though, you'd need to buy Emerald and beyond on eBay, the previous ga,es cannot save anymore due to a fail in the game battery.
