I finally started reading One Piece recent, and I've been really enjoying it.
And it has been epic and good all the way till now.
But, stuff just got real.
I just hit the manga chapter 82 a few minutes ago, and damn it's really getting epic now.
Luffy just agreed to help Nami against Arlong and it was just.... pure epic.
Stuck into it now, but I also have a question..
The manga or the anime? Is the anime good?
Is the anime in the same place as the manga is? :D

You should have added everything. Lol

No, the anime is one arc behind the manga. Both the manga and anime are great.

Lol, you're only there. Just see the arc with the CP9 and Robin(after Alabasta I think). That one is pure epicness. The Arlong one is shit compared to that one :D

Oh chapter 82??That was long, looong time ago for me...It keeps getting epic.
The anime is good too,I really enjoy both, but first episodes the animations is kinda crappy so you will have to bare with it.
It's almost in the same place with the manga and it doesn't have many fillers so I think you should start it too!!

You have made a fantastic choice!

Anyhow as it was said, the manga is about 75% of an arc ahead as the anime is currently on the previous arc.

The anime also has overall good quality to ir IMO...at least it feels as though it outs more effort than Naruto does (not to discredit Naruto). I say this because not only is there good quality, but you could practically watch it without realizing where filler arcs come in. Especially with G-8!!!

Keep sailing my friend, you have yet to meet my favorite character!!!

Just wait till you see a small little "raccoon", his backstory is very sad.

Lol. This part is "crappy" compared to stuff to come. Your mind will be blown in later arcs. It really just gets better and better.

Both are good choices. I watched the anime the first time around. I went back and read the manga after that. If you want to switch to the anime, I would do it about ch 100. That's like episode 61 or 62. It's when the real story begins.

Also, the anime is like 1 arc behind the manga. It won't catch up though. Every manga chapter is 1 episode. There is so much content in every chapter later, you can make an entire episode out of it.

To get into the point.

The anime is following the manga as it is. The studio makes sure to stay behind the manga for an arc so that gives Oda plenty of time. Although out of the blue Oda takes break suddenly. It happens sometimes. If the anime got any closer to the manga, they start fillers for 2 or 3 episodes until things get on the track as they planned both publishers and studio.

the anime isn't far from the manga and if you're worried about fillers their isn't much
