Those ''plenty'' were usually individuals of great speed, such as Lee, Raikage etc.

Asuma doesn't have that incredible speed. His Part 2 databook stats are still weaker than Part 1 Kakashi's.

Kakashi also has his dogs and more nature transformations, being a more versatile fighter. Not to mention intelligence, where Kakashi has a clear edge.

You realise those were only to scare Gatou's guards, those clones were next to useless because he divided very little chakra for them, the guy was tired and his chackra reserves were terrible that time.

First bold. Kage Bunshin still consumes a lot of chakra, even if you divide very little between it. When Hiruzen used it the Konoha people were visibly concerned, since it costs a lot of chakra, whereas all Hiruzen's clones did was hold an enemy in place.
