*Possible spoilers on bleach and naruto*

Itachi deceived everyone but 5 people that he killed everyone in the village. He was viewed as a villain his whole life after the Uchiha massacre. His reasons were for protecting the village and Sasuke Uchiha his brother. He devoted the rest of his life to make sure Sasuke would become a strong shinobi in the hopes that he would "avenge" the Uchiha clan making him the hero. He was and is a great shinobi. (my favorite ninja in the series lol, don't worry though, I won't go and claim he's better than all the shinobi because he isn't and plus I know better :p)

Gin on the other hand was a soul reaper who became a villain in order to kill the man that stole "something" from Rangiku. He deceived everyone, even Aizen himself, of his true intentions. Even though he did not succeed in killing Aizen and revenging Rangiku of whatever was stolen from her, he not only almost beat Aizen, but helped Ichigo in the sense of molding him to change his view. At the time, Ichigo was doubting his skill at being able to defeat Aizen. Gin was "testing" him to see if he had what it takes to beat him. In the end, he stalled long enough for Ichigo to show up and finally fight Gin.

So who do you think was the better "hero"

Itachi.

You credit Gin with having duped Aizen of his intentions, when in reality, Aizen knew that Gin would try to kill him, but did not know when it would happen.

I'm glad you knew that. Yes it is true that Aizen knew Gin's real intentions all along. But he still did not know how or when Gin would try to kill him, thus evading or duping Aizen when he did :)

Aizen didn't exactly act "duped" when Gin turned on him ya know...
.... Gin not only stabbed him, but he also destroyed Aizen's cells. If he didn't have the hogyoku or whatever it was, he would've died. You I guess don't know the meaning of the word so I'll give you the definition duped- pulling a fast one when no one was expecting.... :)

His reasons were for protecting the village and Sasuke Uchiha his brother
and he ended up destroying both. he did nothing to protect konha and repeatedly attacked or turned a blind eye to it. itachi was an evil monster who destroyed 7 peoples lives and his own brother's

He devoted the rest of his life to make sure Sasuke would become a strong shinobi in the hopes that he would "avenge" the Uchiha clan making him the hero. He was and is a great shinobi
which makes no sense. why would a criminal killing another criminal make the first criminal a hero? konoha would only be disappointed they didnt both die and kill two birds with one stone.
sasuke is strong. wish granted. is he sane? not so much.
Gin on the other hand was a soul reaper who became a villain in order to kill the man that stole "something" from Rangiku. He deceived everyone, even Aizen himself, of his true intentions
just because he wanted aizen dead doesnt mean he wasnt a cruel evil sociopath like itachi
So who do you think was the better "hero"
neither since both are evil torturing villains who ruined lives and callously attempted to murder people in cold blood

You do know I hope that Itachi was also a spy gathering information from the akatsuki. In reality it's all just speculation because we are giving characters of an anime false thoughts and reasons. lol

As for Gin, no one knew how to stop Aizen/beat him, because they didn't know all the info on his zanpokutou. In order for him to "gain" his trust he had to perform certain deeds in order to keep his place with Aizen and the gang.

You say they were both villains, yet you do not know truly why they did the things they did. You can sit here all day and tell me what they should've done, but truthfully the author's are the one's who decide why and how they did the things they did. So my question was to whom was the better "hero" regarding all the hearsay, and just sticking to the facts that are true in the manga and anime :D

The ends don't justify the means any either of the characters.
Itachi didn't do anything but screw everything up and help support the bad guys, at the same time he turned his brother into a villain. Not only that he was then going to try to perma genjutsu sasuke into thinking he wasn't

Gin failed in his plans all around, maybe he would have been considered a hero for killing azien but i really dont think so. His crimes probably wouldn't have been overlooked. no matter how helpful.

he didnt give anyone anything which is why jiraiya died

no he didnt. tousen did basically nothing too evil except in the 100 years ago arc. he stood around doing nothing in karakura town.

You say they were both villains, yet you do not know truly why they did the things they did.
i know why. they are evil sociopathic murderers. the reasons do not justify the means. the road to hell is paved with good intentions. a man who thinks nothing hes doing is wrong is more dangerous than someone acting out of pure spite and malice

You can sit here all day and tell me what they should've done, but truthfully the author's are the one's who decide why and how they did the things they did.
the authors decide how to portray a character. they know how to do selfless heroes (rukia, naruto). theres a reason why itachi and gin are so different to those two in actions and goals. itachis goal is to die by forcing his brother to embrace hatred
