Why Tobirama created edo tensei

I think the next chapter will shed more positive light on Tobirama. Though up until now, he's been portrayed as a ruthless military leader who shoots first and asks questions later, and most of today's problems in the ninja world are directly a result of his doing. But I think we'll see Tobirama attempt to give one more try at peace with the uchihas by creating edo tensei for the purpose of bringing back Izuna to attempt to even things out with Madara. Obviously we know that latertis jutsu will cause only problems and become kinjutsu. But I think we'll see it's origins had much less malicious intent.

Tobirama is not the kind of a person who resorts to such drastic measures as resurrecting a certain enemy who he had killed.It appears as if he did that for the sake of the trust b/w senju and uchiha.His real motive in creating ET was to keep the uchihas at bay if they ever revolted against the village and to increase the military strength of the village

Well to be honest, if Tobirama had killed Madara in this chapter, then the overall strife in the Naruto world would have been avoided.

Yep, this seems to be the consensus, but I don't think Izuna will actually be revived, since that would mean Tobirama would need a sacrifice.

Seems possible, but still, Tobirama, a very militaristic shinobi, is going to revive an enemy who seems to hate and distrust the Senju more than even Madara? A little too far-fetched IMO

This is definately in his nature, to do it as a a sign of good faith to the public. But with a hidden agenda to be safe. This reeks of the sensei of Danzo. lol

Well the Uchiha Massacre's boiling point happened after Obito attacked the leaf with the Kyuubi

and without Madara's deception, the Uchiha might not have been discriminated against....

Yea but that's only assuming that the vilage would have been formed in the way it was. I am suggesting an alternate timeline would have occured had Madara been killed. Then rathter than Madara raising Obito perhaps he would havew never existed or worse hav been groomed from birth to hate the Senju and had been raised to fight them along with Itachi, Sasuke, and Shisui in the future. Remember though Uchihas were definitely gettimng tired of fighting the trust is not yet established so like Hashi said, someone definitely would have tried to avenge him. And if any of the other Uchihas were a bit as smart as Madara to know at the time they stood no chance, I wouldn't put it past them to secretly raise a bunch of killer Itachis and Obitos for the sole purpose of destroying Senju.
