I think it's pretty badass that Tobirama obviously took on and bested Izuna WITH his Mangekyo Sharigan. That being said, seeing as how Madara was close to blindness before the Eternal, I wonder if Izuna had the same problem and that's why Tobirama got him in the end...

Itachi and Obito didn't tell the complete truth. We are hearing the truth now. Madara did NOT kill Izuna for power. He was suffering and tried to protect him. He loved him, he even would have made peace with Hashirama but Izuna stopped him with his dying breath. Izuna was a fanatic who turned Madara against Hashirama.

And later, as an Edo, Madara clearly says it himself 'all my brother has left me was his eyes and hatred'. He even seems to regret it now.
