but this is about how he was made with Edo Tensei beyond his prime & younger..

Hashirama's DNA from the Mazou remains and zetsu clones....
They took Madara's body and altered it using his own powers...dun...dun...dun..
The Rinnegan's abilities.

either that and with the combonation added with Hashirama's DNA..
Hashirama's DNA I believe has the same or similar youth preserve as Tsunade's

I say that jutsu came from hashirama because he always looked young, as did Tobirama..
and Mito actually aged and looked aged...
Notice Hashi's youthful appearance while Tsunade was a young girl

alternative suggestions :

madara was young when he lost to Hashi...so that's before he found the mazou...
he was virtually dead before he hooked himself up to the Mazou with Hashi DNA..
His true soul was himself when he was young, but the mazou just kept his body alive..

My other alternative is:

Madara said the Zetsu were made from the mazou
and you could control them with shared DNA or the Mazou attachment.

so Madara said he awakened the Rinnegan shortly before his death.
so maybe he died along time ago (OR shortly before met Obito)

and the Aged Madara was a CLONE of the Mazou by Madara
that was infused (like Zetsu) with Madara's WILL.

It is worth reading and very extensive research, but Edo Madara clearly is beyond his prime due to its durability and mass chakra, so i wouldnt say it is either good or bad madara was revived before his prime.

Sorry none of that makes sense except for Oro taking energy from people and applying it to Madara's body to make it youthful but even so that was a rinnegan tech Oro doesn't have so it's not possible.

the rinnegan was madara's with the sharingan combined with the senju dna might have became rinnegan,
oro/kabu might have awakened him without giving him a personality so they can operate on him..
that way he doesn't know anything, but he can still follow orders from oro
