Yes he wants to live to see Rin again in the dream world, but I don't think he can do that because he doesn't have Tsukuyomi, so he either needs Madara or Sasuke to cast mugen tsukuyomi, Sasuke is not present yet and reviving Madara would kill him so his options are very limited atm.

I think Obito's original plan was with Itachi instead of Sasuke since he noticed he also had tsukuyomi. For that reason he trained Itachi(like Itachi mentioned), but later he realised Itachi caught deseases or/and couldn't follow his plans. Maybe it's for that reason he decided to look Sasuke's progression

i dont think sasuke will go along with it, (he actually might, but he doesnt like obito i dont think)but i think
obito might try to force him, but i think orochimaru is who sasuke will stick with, and sasuke will want to
know the 'real' madara when they all head to the war.

Great job, this is definitely one of your better theories. I always try to think of something to argue or even just ask basic questions, but this theory is full proof. It explains so many things.

You pretty much covered it all. I always knew Obito had no intention of reviving Madara. It seemed obvious, Obito's ideals were not alligned with Madara's so he just wouldn't revive him. However, I never thought that Obito couldn't use Tsukiyomi and actually might have needed Madara, you pieced that part together extraordinarily well. This could also explain why Obito didn't kill Sasuke (and maybe even Itachi) during the massacre (the deal to spare Sasuke was with the Leaf, not Obito). He saw Itachi could use Tsukiyomi and imagined Sasuke would be able to use it as well.

That could also be possible but Obito doesn't like the real world anymore, if he revives Rin she will oppose him with his plans I think.
