If I ridden my horse to death even then I would still not have reached the village in less than a day. There were of course shortcuts through the forest that only Anbu had knowledge of. However I surmised that riding my horse on the main road was faster than wading through countless pit traps and labyrinths.
*If only I had wings to carry me across the land*
Wishing for an impossibility did no more than raise my anger at my own helplessness. A day was still too long and the battle could be over in a matter of hours.
*Who couldve invaded the leaf at this time? Could the land of Iron have sent more than just spies to our borders?*
Both questions seemed to go hand in hand but I could not make that leap until all evidence was accounted. My training had taught me to discipline my mind against irrational thoughts. For now, the questions would have to go unanswered. Hokage Tsunade was more than capable of defending the leaf with her own hands. Even if she did fail in her duty then Im sure Lord Danzo would protect the village. Hope strengthened my resolve and I set my horse to ride harder against the wind. There was no helping it. This ride would be her finsl but I would not let it be in vain.We sped forward against unusually harsh winds, steep cliffs, and abandoned towns. A powerful sense of foreboding seized my soul. I could not shake the feeling. Surprisingly, I encountered villagers running away from Konohas direction in the same road I trudged forward. Their immensity was a huge hindrace to my passing and soon I found myself blockaded from the road itself.
"Move! I must get to Konoha!!"
My anger rose at these people who were trying to save themselves. My shouting did nothing to stop the flow of people. among the chaos I noticed that the winds had suddenly died down and receded to thinness. The wind no longer battered furiously. Silence spread throughout the are until even the birds stopped chirping. Noone made a noise or attempted to move. This silence was dangerous in that there was a source for that silence. With no warning my horse shuffled backwards quickly to turn around and run the opposite direction. I could not hold her back for she fled in fear.
"Stop you stupid horse!!" I was certain that she wouldnt.
A moment later the land trembled as if its very foundations were being torn apart. Trees were uprooted with a malevolent force that could only be described as an omnipotent force. My body was flung with such force that I lost consciousness while I was in the air. Ragnarock had finally come to claim the earth yet the only thing I could think about was failing my master.
