Was Edo-sasori and edo deidara actually weaker than before?

Im not against kankuro beating sasori i know its suppose to mean that he surpassed him but doesnt anyone think that sasori's jutsu was rather limited at at that time? He didn't have any of his original puppets or tools and was stuck with using sai's brother as a combustible make-shift marionette! His puppet body had blades slick with poision and he could use scorching flames and water so highly pressurized it cut a cloud! Not to mention the hundreds of puppets he used to fight granny chiyo and Sakura. And the the third kazekage's iron sand! This sasori was weaker probably just because of his lack of tools.

Deidara may not actually be weaker, but i cant help but notice he didn't use any of his jutsu back when he fought sasuke. Like, what happened to C4 Karura? and his little clay puppets? and C2 dragon?

I think, that "living" deidara and sasori were way stronger than their edo counterparts. I'm not saying that edo-anyone is weaker than their original, but in this case that would be true

Yes and weaker from far, because Sasori didn't have his puppet and Deidara have not do his max bomb like C4 and C0

I agree with you, but I remember Deidara saying the Edo body limits or effects his natural Jutsu, with the hands... ( In Anime)

Also Kishi said that Edo Deidara is deadly because he can suicide and regenrate, which could defeat a lot of ninja. ( FOdders and Not Fodders)

In the manga they were because of plot, but in a no-plot-scenario they were both obviously stronger.

Deidara had the jutsu from before but he didn't use it (maybe out of arrogance or preserving his art's "beauty"). He actually did try using C0 but was stabbed with a raiton weapon before he could detonate.

the stronger the edo tensei the closer edos come back with full power
