I think Obito declared the War cause he wanted to unite all the Five Great Nations.... He doesn't give a F**K about Project Tsuki No Me in reality.... He didn't even seem interested in reviving Madara....

Moreover at the time of declaring the war he must be well aware that he alone didn't have the might to take on The Shinobi Alliance only with the Gedo Mazo and White Zetsus on his side....

It was Kabuto because of whom the Shinobi Alliance had such a hard time....
Just imagine if Kabuto wouldn't have helped Obito.... What would have happened..?? The war would have ended a long time ago....

Also I think Obito knew that The United Shinobi Alliance has the might to destroy the Gedo Mazo.... May be he wanted the Tailed Beasts defeated and destroyed once and for all as it would end the long Power scramble between all nations....

I think he knew why Kakashi had to kill Rin.... And he thought that the war among the nations was the main reason behind it.... So he did all that he has done all along and forced the Great Nations to form an Alliance because of his actions.... :D :D

Share Your Thoughts Guys.... :D :D

My first thread in this site was same topic before 2 years

Got kicked in the balls for it

But I totally agree, he is like the good guy in bad guy uniform he already by now planted the seeds of peace in world by uniting all 5 countires together

I don't agree to be honest. He indirectly did that.

He could've just stopped after the Bijuu were taken down; but no, he proceeded to reviving the Ten Tails.

There was a thread like that half an hour ago. So I will repeat what i said there.

He kills people, he doesn't care whether they are united or not. Actually, as he himself has stated, he doesn't care, period.

Thats why I said that he might have thought best to get the Ten Tails destroyed by the combined might of the Alliance to end the power scramble among nations once and for all.... :D :D

Good theory but I disagree......it would no sense for the antagonist to have such a motive considering all he's done so far

I've always like this theory behind his Modus Operandi.

I think all that was necessary to get all the nations on one side.... It wouldn't be possible to get them together unless he made them feel they'd be destroyed staying alone.... :D :D

Use search bar. This exact thread has been made at least a few hundred times already. And it doesn't even make sense. Why would they put so much emphasis on how he was saved, then watching Kakashi kill the love of his life, followed by him brutally slaughtering a group of people he didn't know, and then spend almost 2 decades slaughtering innocent people JUST to unite the 5 nations? If he was still good in any way, even misguided peace idea like Naga to, WHY show all of that? No, the guy is nuts. Moon Eye plan may only be Madara's goal/idea, but I believe Obi to just hates everybody and everything. As Alfred the butler said, "Some men just want to see the world burn.". They have no other motives. They aren't in it for money, revenge, or anything else. They just want to hurt people.

Well, meh,no.
Obito didn't expect to win the war.He just use this move to lure Naruto and Bee out while the other villages are busy fighting zetsus.
Bijus can't be destroyed,if he wanted to destroy the Gedo he could have done it long time ago.
And he manipulated and killed so many people along the way,if he just wanted to unite the nations he could have declared war under the name of Madara long time ago,the results would be the same, cause Madara was always feared.
Obito doesn't care about peace,he only cares to achieve his goal.

Then why he didn't kill Kakashi along with the Mist Shinobi.... I think Obito knew Rin was going to die at the hands of the Mist Shinobi if Kakashi didnt kill her first.... and all that had something to do between the two villages....
Alsi he says.... You let Rin Die and not You killed Rin.... I think it implies Obito knew that Rins death was inevitable.... If not Kakashi then at The Mist Village Nins hands.... :D :D
