Itachi is better then Sasuke because:

1.Itachi murder his own class in order to protect the leaf village and his little brother

2.Itachi played double agent with he join the Akatsuki in order to keep eye on them

3.Itachi lied to Sasuke in order for Sasuke to become the hero of Konoha and redeem the uchiha clan, however despite Itachi expectations Sasuke still wanted to crush Konoha(yea that makes perfect sense -__-)

4.Itachi carried a heavy burden over his life has a traitor to the leaf and hated by his little brother

5.Itachi was the antihero

When it comes to Sasuke, all Sasuke is in a nutshell a flip flopper and hes selfish. Again despite Itachi's wishes Sasuke still wanted to crush the leaf village after Itachi left from the battle field and it is funny because Sasuke thought his brother was "perfect". Sasuke has no reason to crush the leaf. The only reason why Sasuke wants to crush the leaf is because that's what he wants to do like a little child (I want this, I want that). What I mean by flip-flopper is that Sasuke has this tendency to switch sides a lot threw the story his "emotions". Over all Sasuke is not that good of a character and Itachi is the better one out of the two uchiha brothers.

So explain how tormenting your own brother in hopes he would turn out as a hero even sounds like a good idea.... you can't because it wasn't. That is why itachi admitted he failed, see y'all complete disregard that face that it's because of Itachi that sasuke is second guessing crushing the leaf, Y'all act like he still wants to crush it because if he really wanted to destroy the leaf he would have went with suigetsu's idea to destroy it while everyone was at war. You need to realize that Itachi sucked as an brother, as a shinobi he was great but as an older brother horrible.

Bottom line is: Itachi is a genius above all others. Sasuke acts like he's a genius above all others.

Yea in one way when you look at, Itachi's actions when comes to Sasuke of course, Itachi can easily be consider a failure of a brother, despite Itachi failed as brother and his treacherous actions. Itachi only did to protect the leaf and his little brother regardless. Again Sasuke only wants to crush the leaf simply because that's what Sasuke wants to do like a little child. Again I think Itachi is better then Sasuke as a character that's the point I was trying to make.

Not sure how you equate him wanting to destroy the leaf village as childish. Look, I'm not saying Sasuke has grown into a well developed individual, who's intellectual grasping of the world is so perfect, that any choice he makes is logical, or reasonable. What I am saying is A) not to sound so condescending of his decisions. Yes, he is young, and it's a gut instinct for anyone older to assume any choice a younger individual commits as naive/immature (comes with the territory). However, he still made a choice; one that is difficult and heavy with burden, which is directly influenced by B) a tragic event where his family was mutilated by his brother (and then later revealed his brother was "used" as a tool by the leaf village).
You essentially treat his desire to destroy an entire village, like that of a child wanting candy. Um, sorry, but a young kid who wants to destory an entire village and kill everyone their isn't childish: it's psychotic and disturbing. So no, childish wouldn't be the correct choice to describe his actions. Also, a question to ask regarding Sasuke's actions is what pushed this kid to want to kill people. The answer to that (already pointed out by Great Sage) is far from childish, and ordinary.

I was referring to the events that happen after Itachi left during the 4th ninja war. Anyway that's how I see it now from reading the Naruto chapters this far. That's all I have to say U_U
