How Could've Kabuto Surpassed Orochimaru That Easily If They Have The Same Cells?

I don't get how after getting Orochimaru's DNA how Kabuto was able to so easily surpass Orochimaru by doing things Orochimaru never could've done, such as gaining Sage Mode, being to summon a 1000+ Edo army, etc. when they have the exact same cells. Does it have to do with age? Kabuto just having greater potential? Tell me your thoughts, negative or positive.

Because Kabuto didn't stop there. He learned SM, learned the Edo Tensei, and injected himself with the DNA of other strong ninjas (Sound 4, Kimi, Suigetsu, Karin, etc), which allowed him to surpass his previous master.

Because Orochimaru is obsessed with immortality so he was spending so much time on his research, while Kabuto was trying to seek revenge on Sasuke so he had to discover a way to power up!

Kabuto and Oro had incomplete experiments because Oro didn't have any arms and could not do it himself. Kabuto is smarter than Oro and after Kabuto got his dna he went ahead it did it his self and more. However I believe Oro just got even stronger now that he has a zetsu body and probably will do the thing Kabuto wanted todo with a zetsu. Technically Oro has SM it was just very imperfect but now it may be a different story. I predict current Oro will be stronger than Kabuto.

when it come to orochimaru and kabuto, it's all about the upgrades they give to themselves. research, collect and upgrade so orochimaru died (sort of, coz he is back now) and kabuto kept researching until he enhanced him self beyond his master (with different DNA from different unique shinobi's including his master). advice, don't look at the word "SURPASSED" when you're reading/watching this series, a lot of times it means nothing, absolutely NOTHING (BS).
