Has anyone else seen this series? I just finished it and it's a truly lovely anime.

!

Basically, the main character used to have chuunibyou (eighth-grader syndrome), which basically means the person acts like they have special powers and whatnot (kinda like what kids do when they play and such), except for the part where they aren't little kids so this comes across as weird and results in hilarious stuff happening. Upon reaching high school, he wishes to put his embarrassing middle school years behind him, making the effort to go to a far school where none of his middle school friends would go to truly abandon this. But once he meets a girl who has the same thing that he did, his normal high school life would go down the drain......

It's a really funny series no doubt, with so much random comedy that it's easy to be amused. The first half in particular has so much randomness and if you can relate at all to the way these characters act, then it's very amusing to see how they interact and all. It does get a lot more dramatic as it goes on though. It's a very emotional story at times and even though it didn't have me weeping or anything of the sort, it's still pretty touching. The drama is really sweet and seeing how the characters develop is really quite nice.

If anyone is familiar with Kyoto Animation works, then this is one of them and anybody who enjoys those and hasn't seen this should definitely check it out. It's a short but great anime.

I have. it's one of my favorite Romance/Comedy animes for sure. Especially Rikka, a lot of the things she does is cute as hell, like the finger twirl thing she does in the opening. It's the main reason I even found out about it to be honest.

Yeah I really liked Rikka, she and Nibutani were my two favorites in Chuunibyou. Seeing the interactions between Rikka and Yuuta was great, they had great comedy moments but also really emotional ones too and the chemistry between the two really made the series what it is. I remember that Rikka was the first thing I ever saw about Chuunibyou too, and the fact that it was a KyoAni series caught my eye. Didn't get around to watching it until a friend recommended it though.
