Is it just me or Hiruzen's stats are incredibly good?
I still wonder though, are those stats while he's in his prime or old?

Ninjutsu : 5/5
Taijutsu : 5/5
Genjutsu : 5/5
Intelligence : 5/5
Handseals : 5/5
Strength : 3/5
Speed : 3/5
Stamina : 3/5

Yah, I always wondered what other hokages would have had in these categories (1st and 2nd) I would imagine they woudnt have high genjutsu but everything else would be pretty close to 5.

What surprised me was how high itachi's stats are considering that part 3 was during his extremely sickened state.

Well, according to the scale used in this databook, Hashirama would be at 20/5 in ninjutsu. Hiruzen was OP in Naruto, but he's nowhere this good in Shipuuden (unless we see him pull out new jutsus in his edo form).

Wow, can't imagine Hiruzen's stats when he was in his prime=Even more beast?
Stamina, Strength, and Speed are affected by age the most

Then why would he have a 5 in taijutsu considering he's old?

He has the techniques mastered, but in his senescence he doesn't have the speed and strength to execute them to their fullest.

Hiruzen mastered Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, and Genjutsu. This is when he was called "God of the Shinobi" Kishi wanted him to have perfect stats but he was old, so he got a 3 in speed and stamina. We can assume he was perfect in his prime, getting a 5 in everything. That is what Kishi was hinting at.

What's the point if he can't use them? He should have had 2 or 3 in taijutsu

I agree, I believe he was completely well rounded and of good strength in each one, of course other specialists would surpass him in some of these, (kisame with suiton for example)

Age doesn't impact taijutsu as much as your mistakenly believing. Look at Chiyo, she proved otherwise.

Well he had to gain that rank some how. Mess with him and he might kill you with a peeled banana. xD

Rofl :sy: , tell me what taijutsu feats does Chiyo have?

(it's not much, but she repelled him well + he needed a clone)

The point is, Kishi chose those stats. There doesn't need to be blatantly obvious examples for each category.
Going strictly by what's been presented, you might as well wipe your ass with the databooks, in most cases.

You've got absolutely no reason to think he doesn't deserve his stat in taijutsu.

Is that really all you could come up with?
Beside it's obvious Naruto was holding back, knowing him he would never punch an old woman in the face.

My point has never been that the databook stats have to be taken straight from the manga feats Kishi has shown.
You're the one who brought up that point by saying Chiyo proved otherwise when she didn't.

And clearly an old man cannot be as good in taijutsu as when he was in his prime, it's just common sense.

Immediately after the little scuffle, Naruto commented to himself that she was good. Whatever though.
Never mentioned he'd be just as strong in his old age. He'd still be good though, he managed to disarm Orochimaru.
Obviously, his stats have not deteriorated quite so much that most of them should be changed, barring the obvious.

Note, not saying the disarming was taijutsu though. Though both taijutsu and kenjutsu require good reflexes.
