Rinnegan and Sharingan

After just reading a thread asking what you'd prefer, byakugan, sharingan or rinnegan, I thought about the following:

The 6 paths sennin inherited the power of his eyes to one of the sons (uchiha), and of his body to the other son (senju)

Since you can Genjutsu with sharingan, why can't you genjutsu with the rinnegan?? It should have a great genjutsu


The byakugan, for those that remember, comes from the sharingan.. Although it was developed or whatever, but I got no question about it....

But the sharingan comes from the rinnegan, and it wasn't modified, like byakugan was...

I'm not sure I know genjutsu dosent work on the rinnegan eyes.. Sound genjutsu is a different story.....

It doesn't make sense because if something comes from something else, wouldn't it have similar traits to the orginal thing it came from and vise versa

Imagine a computer. If I give you part of it, let's say the screen, you'll be able to connect it to something else (like tv) and watch stuff there. But then it doesn't do everything the entire computer does... So if it comes from something, it should have similar things, but not all

I just want you to know that made no sense, the T.V didn't come from the computer; you said in your original post that the sharingan came from the rinnegan.

rinnegan is the evolved form of the sharingan.
i dont understand how the rinnegan isnt able to use sharingan abilities like susanoo or tsukoyomi or amaterasu since you need to have EMS first?

Must of the genjutsu used by the Sharingan is unique to the Sharingan. Since the two eyes are not the same thing, why would they have the same power? genjutsu is just illusions any way, there would be no point in the rinnegan having it.

From what we know the sage of six paths and his eldest son did not have the sharingan, yes with senju DNA its possible for the Sharingan to evolve to the rinnegan but that doesnt mean the rinnegan has to have the same powers other wise it would be pointless
