Minato's nature affinity: A hint from KISHI

I don't know if the page were from original kishi drawing since every manga site out there have different introduction and page ending. But if the page you refer to, came from Kishi himself, then it is really a preview of the 4 Kages with their nature affinity. We don't know much about Minato's abilities, we don't know much of Hashirama's ability till now and we found out that he is really a beast. Now for Minato it is not an open book yet. I believe he still have more show, but until Kishi reveals something, nothing is certain for sure. But your observation about the page is nice find.

In a few cases, Kishi has already shown links between the name of a person to his/her personal fighting styles, personalities or physical attributes. For instance: Inuzuka Kiba (犬塚 キバ), Inu (犬) means 'dog'. Orochimaru (大蛇丸), Orochi (大蛇) means 'giant snake'. Akimichi Chouji (秋道チョウジ), Chou (チョウ) or perhaps (蝶) means 'butterfly'.

Minato's surname is Namikaze.
Nami (波) means 'waves' ('water') and Kaze (風) means 'wind'. I think it may mean that Minato may come from a small clan that in which its members possess an affinity towards either one or both of them but whether or not Minato uses them often in his fights, that's a different case.

True..those were hints..there are hints in the manga showing that Minato have, wind, water, lighting, and earth..I'm not saying he have those elements but those hints are favoring that.. I can give you the hints showing he have those elements...

Tobirama hasn't shown any but posses the same sensing/tracking ability...so can't say for sure. Although it would not surprise me if he uses Fire Techs, both Jiraya and Hiruzen did them. From Last Chapter it seems even Hashirama has Katon. And we know a normal Jounin has mastered at least 2 elements, Minato being a Genius may has 3 like his student Kakashi.

actually you are incorrect... Ransengan is merely a pure chakra shaped and formed.

This is why Kakashi, Jiraiya, Minato, Naruto and konohamaru can do it, yet only of them have Wind Natural... It's even stated that the rasengan was unfinished, due to the fact it never had an element, this is why Naruto added Wind, thus created the Rasenganshuriken.

could be, minato's name also suggests he's a water/wind user, and his use of kunai to cut bee's tentacle with no leverage, trying to stab raikage's lightning shroud with kunai and naruto owning wind reinforces the fact he's a wind user. imo he has those two elements. ahving lightning is also a possiblity. i don't see him owning earth and fire though for sure.

I am not saying its kekkei genkai it same way as Hashirama and Yamato can combine water and land to create wood style technique
So what does wind and water can make its ice and may be something like gufuu suika no jutsu(hurricane whirlpool)

Uchiha translates to fan

the ju in Senju translates to tree

the Saru in Sarutobi translates to monkey

Uzumaki translates to whirlpool

Hyuuga translates to place in the sun, same as the name Hinata

Kiba translates to fang

Namikaze could both translate to Wind of the wave, or to wind of the south. And it's very possible that he might have possessed just water element, since Kakashi once mentioned that Minato's element wasn't fit for the Rasengan and it wouldn't make sense if it turns out that he indeed had the Wind element all along.

true..it's possible that he has 3 or 4 elements.

HINTS GIVEN:

1. Wind - Naruto has wind and so it's possible that Minato is also a wind user. Minato tried to stab A using a kunai when A is using lightning shroud. wind > lightning

2. Water - As mentioned by the others, Namikaze means wave, harbor which links to water

3. Earth- Minato has a justu that he can tell the presence of an enemy by touching the ground. GROUND=EARTH

4. Lightning - Flying thunder god jutsu. His jutsu can be compared to a lightning rod and lightning.

I believe these are good HINTS.
