Hashirama is 1st Hokage. He dies. Tobirama takes over. Tobirama dies. Itama becomes Third Hokage. Somewhere along the way, Itama dies or eventually retires, giving the position to Hiruzen. The sequence of events has not changed Hiruzen's age in any way, so he would still retire around the same time and give Minato the position.
