Wood = Sage of 6 path/Juubi

We can look at the Gedo Mazo and see that it has a wood like appearance. We also know that the juubi used a wood jutsu *It could be just Obito channeling his Hashirama powers through it,* but it regardless proves that Juubi and wood are very compatible.
So my claim is that wood has a source in either the sage of 6 paths, and/or the Juubi.

Thoughts?

Considering the juubi is mostly nature energy by the looks of it, it makes sense that its kind of tied into wood style.

Also Naruto tried to sense its power level by going sage mode and he was completely overwhelmed.
