Nurarihyon no Mago

[Miles vi Britannia]

Anybody else familiar with this series? Just caught up to the manga and finished. I honestly expected the ending to be a lot worse but it wasn't all that bad, definitely rushed though and the closure I would've liked wasn't really there.

Basically, Nurarihyon no Mago, also known as Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, is a pretty awesome action Shounen. The main character, Nura, is 3/4 human and 1/4 youkai and lives in a house filled with spirits who served under the leadership of his grandfather, who was a renowned youkai and the first family head. Nura's grandfather wants him to carry on as the family's third leader, though Nura wishes to avoid living the hectic position of youkai leader and prefers to continue with his regular life. Eventually he ends up coming to terms with this situation and accepts his role, and awesome stuff happens.

Yes yes I watch both season.. it is a good anime.. I like when he save kana in bathroom and take her to demon club yeay hahaha

Nice, I still have yet to watch the anime but I do wanna see it sometime. The manga was really good and if the anime ends up being of the same quality I'm sure to enjoy it.

Dude the animation is the best quality so far.. It is obvious more quality than Naruto though huhu..

I haven't read the manga but LOVE the anime.
Definitely on of my favourites! I'm just waiting for season 3 and its taking ages....

Sounds like the anime must be pretty awesome then. The manga was really good in my opinion so if the anime's got good production values and sticks to the awesomeness of the manga then I'm sure I'll like it, I really have to check it out.

The moment they decided to storm the castle, final arc something, but stopped because I found something way more interesting.

Never really connected with that manga as I have many others.

Ah yeah that part, it's a shame it was rushed but overall I still enjoyed it. It's not a top tier series by any means but for all it's worth I thought it was quite fun and better than some of the other big mainstream Shounens.

It was different by some measure, I'll give it that, but somehow, I still couldn't connect with it, even though I do like stories with mythological phenomena and so on. I really liked kekkaishi for example!

I haven't seen Kekkaishi myself so I can't compare, although I've heard it's very similar to Nura. I should give it a try sometime.

Hmmm, well, yes and no. The concepts are different after all, but overall you could say it's about onmyou rather than mythological creatures per se.
