It's entirely plausible, and highly probable too that familial clans existed during Rikudou Sennin's era since it was a time of constant war and the most prominent warring factions in Naruto are clans BUT those clans during the Sage's era were non-ninjutsu wielders

I don't think there were no ninjutsu. What the manga emphasizes on is that Rikudo preached Ninjutsu. Actually, people were using jutsu but it wasn't a formal definition of Jutsus. There was no understanding of molding physical energy or spiritual energy. However, some clan might have KKG already. Rikkudo himself is the evidence that there was Jutsu because he had to have Jutsus. He himself is the evidence of existence of KKG in his time. The only difference between him and others is that his KKG, the Rinnegan, allowed him to see the details of how the power they were using work, thus teach everyone how to become formally ninjas. That is at least the way I understand the explanation given by Jiraya and Tobi.

Despite what others think I find this to be an interesting thread. I thought the senju and uchiha came from the rikdou sannin and the uzumakis came from the senju Idk good topic though.

No, the Uchihas and the Senjus both descended from Rikudou Sennin, who himself was an Uzumaki, the current Uzumakis are "cousiins" of the senjus and uchihas, aka distant bloood relatives as Kushina said.
