The resengan is just concentrated chakra.Same as the chidori without the exception of the lightning properties.
It depends on the amount of chakra put into it.That current resengan would get trashed by rairkiri.

The only reason Raikiri > Chidori is because of a little extra chakra control that goes into Raikiri. Rasengan > Raikiri/Chidori.

OT: It'd make sense for him to use it, but it's not his signature. It's Naruto's. he can't be stealing the main character's jutsu.

But the only reason he doesn't is because then he'd be overpowered. He'd be able to use rasengan in 1 hand and chidori/lightning blade/whatever in his other hand, and 1 shot anybody he can touch.

But it'd still be cool.
