The worst thing happening to NB in a while?

So having no hot section now forcing people to search throughout the forum, why did that happen?
People can't really see what's going on and can't read the interesting threads anymore... :|

The hot section was full of useless threads and most of them being troll/quick pasted threads.
They've replaced the box with a useful announcement and contest updater.

It was the best idea what happened in a while to be honest.
