Madara said you need a living body to be a jinchuriki, but the six pains of obito
also were edo tensei body's and yet they were jinchuriki and able to transform
into the version 2 state and bijuu mode.

Does somebody know why??

Because if the Edo pains can become jinchuriki why can't Madara?

I guess its because Juubi can not be controlled in that way because of being a vast powerhouse.
Juubi'ss chakra is immeasurable and aligns with nature's chakra hence it is almost uncontrollable.
As we are seeing - the more Juubi is evolving , the more it is becoming difficult for Madara and Obito both to control Juubi.

Now how would you control Juubi to be his jinchuriki, using some other bigger tailed beast's skeleton, which oh damn...DOESN'T EXIST!

the gedou only gave these bijuu chakra to it's host.
not to mention. their bodies doesn't have the bijuu.
gedou gave them their bijuu's chakra. not the bijuu.
