Hey I have been stabbed by too many of those damned thing! When I was 14 they told me the shots they were giving me were gonna numb my toe and I wouldn't feel them working on it.....well they didn't wait for it to numb U_U it took 3 nurses, my mom, step dad and the doctor to hold me down from beaten the shit out of the doctor....I then broke hi nose when he told me he was doe and said "Now that didn't hurt that bad did it?"

I don't mind needles and so, but most of the time when I go to the doctor their advise is useless for me>_>

I just don't like them, it just sucks I get a blood test every 6 months or so, and another injection every 11 weeks. ._.

It's not the needle that people fear, but the repercussions if something were to happen, such as the needle breaking inside your body. I wouldn't call the fear toward needles retarded, people basically cannot control their "flight and fight" impulses. If an old trauma comes by, you just need to fight it. The fear is not retarded, but continuing to fear instead of fighting against it is wrong.

By your argument, having fear of heights, spiders, dark are is retarded. Though of course:
Heights = Afraid of impact after falling.
Spiders = Afraid of poison. Not all of us are spider experts.
Dark = Afraid of getting hurt, as you don't know where you are.

Basically all fear merge to a single source, afraid of being hurt, being mentally or physically.
