Tailed Beasts Are Mindless Or not?

So it seems that the tailed beasts are mindless. I remember when Deidara and tobi then captured the third tails they said that it was easy because they were mindless. I know it may have been a filler but still. The first tail seemed to be a bit weird too when he spoke in part one. It seems that these beasts have been in constant battle with humanity. Clearly though the 8 and 9 tails are very intelligent.

Then we got the 10 tails that has shown no intelligence or anything and i know it's being controlled by madara and obito. So are these beasts unable to think intelligently on their own or only inside humans?

That was like the vary beginning of shippuden like FOREVER ago. Obviously there not that mindless. But when it comes to the ten tails it's probablyi just a savage beast, but I believe there's different personality traits when you break them up into nine

No... but they may fight sort of wreckless and Out of control/Mindless (because it is a fact and has been said that they are more powerful when connected to a Host for some reason)... Their power is better wielded that way i guess

Bro compare them to a child with power level of ssj goku. When you make a child angry the child will attack u with spirit bomb but when you spend time with them and try to understand them u will get to know how sharp and intelligent they are. Now apply it to beasts they were never understood, feared, attacked by shinobis hence they behave like a reckless child. Hope u get it.

it's So6P's fault... the only thing that the sage told the tailed beasts is to wait for someone who will show them what true power is...i bet..They have given up after they have been betrayed and used by shinobis countless times...so their reflex toward humans is always aggression and hatred...making them look like mindless beings...
