Intelligence and Sneakiness - Obito vs Itachi

• Knew more about the Sage then nearly any other living being
• Able to manipulate and lie to some of the smartest ninjas in the world
• Was able to lie to the whole world
• Able to analyze and fight in nearly any situation
• Possibly the most knowledgable ninja in jutsu after the Sage

Itachi:

• Able to analyze nearly every situation that can come at him - most notably fighting Edo Nagato
• Essentially planned Sasuke life
• Planned for a possible evil Sasuke using Shisui KA
• Planned to kill 'Madara' even when dead
• Effectively lied to all of Konoha and even more...
• Lied to the Akatsuki about his allegiance

uh obito isnt the one who knows as much jutsu closest to the sage in fact i think that goes to orochimaru it is his goal to know every jutsu...itachi didnt lie to akatsuki about his allegiance as shown obito was true leader an knew full well what itachi was up too, he might have fooled the others or most likely they didnt care as long as mission was complete....but it is a very good argument but obito wins because his plans have worked, itach's plan to change sasuke failed well its still in the process and itachi's plan to kill obito failed because amterasu failed so...yea obito gets this although there are smarter shinobi like...

madara because everything obito knows is because of madara and shikaku is the or was the genius behind the alliance forces or minato for easily figuring out obito's power and effectively coutering him instantely what still takes naruto and everybody else took him only seconds to do...

if one has knowledge they are intelligent remember everything u learn at school is to be remembered and what u remember is what u know and the word know is the root word of knowledge...but i do understand what u mean but neither one of them are the smartest

well obito learned a lot about the sage and the rinnegan and senju facts from madara but a lot of researching on his own is what got him this far plus he knows just about every tech he knows about every person...itachi is a strategist but neither one are the smartest of all narutoverse

Dude, to understand is to be smart. You cannot understand something if you do not posses the intelligence needed.

True on the definition of genius, and that's not only in the NV. However, in case of Itachi, he IS a genius on intel, ninjutsu, taijustsu, speed, and seals. 5/5 means can't be better, equals genius. The term was originally used for animals which adopted perfectly to their surroundings. Genus. And again, Itachi did. Perfectly. Adapt.

Reeeeaaally tough question, but I'll have to say Itachi, because he was practically born a ninja and has a much better sense of reasoning.

And to people saying 'you can't count Obito because he got all his knowledge from Madara', please, kill yourself. Source doesn't matter not one bit, nobody cares about the source you get your stuff from as long as you know it. Itachi got a majority of his skill and knowledge from tablets and teachers, wouldn't that be the same thing? Or wouldn't you say 'you can't credit Naruto for rasengan because he learned it from Jiraiya'? It's about knowing things, doesn't matter how you know it.

Oh well deffinatly Obito didn't do it all on other people's work! Look at Akatsuki! Obito planned a way to incubate Madara's eyes, and accomplish his goals at the same time!

And yes, Itachi is deffinatly a strategist, but also had some great insight/wisdom.

Shikaku and Shikamaru are probably hands down the smartest people in the manga as far as raw intellect goes! I was just saying between Obito and Itachi, Itachi wins in pure intellect/wisdom, where in overall obtained knowledge/deception Obito wins.

all he does is steal sharingans, put groups together, act silly or angry, and use kamui with senju dna in him
