Misconceptions about Minato

Before getting to the misconceptions, I'll first state the three "bodies of critics" that make up Minato's standing on NB. "Haters, "neutrals" and "Fanboys".

"Haters/Dont give a...."-Basiclly people who say Minato is not that strong and barely makes top 20 and shouldnt be in top 10s. Reason for this is because of Minato's limited arsenal(FTG and rasengan). Opinions such as "Minato got nothin on Susanoo" and "Minato lost to A and B" had arisen because of this body.

The former opinion is TRUE while the latter is FALSE. The only offensive skill Minato has is rasengan and that cant even chip Susanoo. However, Minato can teleport Susanoo attacks due to FTG Barrier but thats really his only defence minus FTG itself. During the "Minato vs AB" fight, Minato outclassed them both. He easily dodged A's punch by teleporting behind and was going to kill him/seriously wound him if it werent for Bee. Even though Bee saved A, Minato effortlessly cut off Bee's tail with a kunai and placed a FTG symbol on his body WITHOUT BEE EVEN NOTICING. Even after that, Minato dodged A's full speed punch at POINT BLANK RANGE.

"Neutrals"-Basiclly people who understands both "Haters" and "Fanboy" opinoins to an extent to which a neutral can make a logical opinion. These opinions gave rise to/adding fuel to the fire of misconceptions such as "Minato</>Itachi", "Minato vs EMS Sasuke" and "Minato can stop a tailed beast".

When it comes to "Minato and Itachi", some people fail to realize that they are EQUALS. In my opinon, the entire fight would be a stalemate. Before Minato can even use FTG to a great extent, he must first fill the enviroment with FTG kunais. Itachi is the best kunai user we've seen and he can probably intercept the FTG kunai to locations of his choosing or better yet, throw explosive kunais destroying the FTG ones(with the sharigan slowing down time, it shouldnt be a real problem). Minato's FTG will be limited to the one in his hand and the few on the ground. Their intelligence and taijutsu is equal with Minato having the speed advantage. When it comes to Susanoo, Minato will have no way of harming Itachi but at the same Itachi cant hurt Minato. No technigue is fast enough to catch Minato and no technigue is strong enough to break susanoo. The reason why Minato emurges victorious is because of Itachi's INFERIOR STAMINA. Susanoo will soon disappear leaving Itachi wide open and vulnerable.

When it comes to "Minato and Sasuke" people tend to learn towards the one they believe has the greater advantage. Minato having the advantage because of his speed and Sasuke having the advantage in power. Minato vs EMS Sasuke is just like Minato vs Itachi except Sasuke has less intelligence but more stamina. However, Minato only beats Itachi becuase of his poor stamina while Sasuke's is immense. This fight will be a complete stalemate and we cant really say who wins because we dont know Minato's chakra limitations. It all comes down to personal opinion but we can all agree that Sasuke will be stronger than Minato when he gets his next power up.

As to "Minato stopping tailed beast without killing himself", the answer is no. Minato is perfect when it comes to defending against tailed beast but he has nothing that can stop them without killing himself. Minato resorted to suicide against Kurama and he could only seal half of its power. If he had another way he would have done it.

"Fanboys"-Obviously people who overhype Minato by saying he can beat Obito,Kabuto,Naruto etc.. The simple answer is no...just no.

Overall, Minato is a strong fighter when it comes "staying in the game." He has no technigues that we've seen so far that actually kills someone without commiting suicide. What he lacks in killing power he makes for in intelligence and "defence." I believe thats why hes "shaky and unstable" when it comes to ranks and other stuff.

Nicely said. But I don't think he lacks in killing power. There's a reason why entire platoons were given a retreat-on-sight order if he was seen; they'd all be killed in an instant.

I'm proud to say that I'm neutral on all characters. This isn't just me, others have said it as well. And I can say Minato is overhyped... he's good, dare I say awesome, but not where many put him.

Minato killed 70-100 ninja in the blink of an eye. I don't suppose he died did he? Then there is that ninja he killed when saving Kakashi, and the other 50-100 he killed when saving Kakashi. Then there is A and Bee, who he didnt kill but obvioulsy could have. Then there is...wait for it.....OBITO

Wow he killed fodder with a kunai. Very impressive. Is that a technigue used against people thats shown in "top" threads or just a taijutsu feat against random ninja who dont matter?

Oh so i guess anything Rock Lee and Gai do just doesnt count? Because your logic says anything thats not jutsu isnt winning the battle. Tell that to tenten, lee, gai, kiba, neji, and bee. Who all mostly use taijutsu with their attacks....

Well if you listened to what I said in the thread, you've would've known that I meant killing power in his technigues based on the misconceotions I stated. Of course stabbing someone with a kunai is deadly, but whats it gonna do to Itachi or Sasuke incased in susanoo? Or against a tailed beast?

P.S. by technique, i mean rasengan. Its the only "killing" move he has against susanoo and biju.

I would think that Minato can kill tailed beasts without hurting himself. The way to do this would be to create a space-time barrier when the beast attacks with a TBB all he has to do is redirect that attack onto the tailed beast itself. Furthermore, he could also send parts of the tailed beast somewhere else by using a space-time barrier.

We can't really say that Minato's only killing technique is the rasengan. His wife was a sealing master of the Uzumaki clan. Who's to say that he didn't have offensive sealing techniques. Minato was all about not waiting chakra in fights. The FTG and rasengan uses very little chakra especially to someone with hokage level reserves. That's not to say he didn't have a jutsu that could knock Susanoo off its sides (except Itachi's Susanoo which is indestructible)

Also Minato could easily fight against Sasuke Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. Sasuke doesn't constantly use Susanoo. With Minato's speed if Sasuke came in contact with Minato once the battles over. Who's to say Minato can't invade Susanoo if he has a FTG attached to his body. Also Minato is a hokage with vast knowledge of the world and especially the Uchiha clan I think he knows better to no look into a sharingan eye. That's basic knowledge.

After the Minato vs Obito fight. We should all understand that Minato is the most adaptable fighters we've see. He easily beat Obito who already knew his fighting style and powers. Obito who's able to go toe to toe with Naruto full Kurama mode, guy, Kakashi and Bee. Minato is defiantly top 5 in history (excluding the SO6P)

for all we know he too could have frog Sage mode, or another element mastery...lets just wit for kishi to show what minato is all about(if he ever does)

I cant believe ppl think a mere kunai would have any severe damage on the raikages(ANY of them)

do ppl know its friken armor as well that was shown to tank a rasengan?

Minato didn't outclass them B saw the attack coming from behind and got ready, why do u think minato stop attacking Bee.

All that battle proved is that time-space jutsu is faster than the lightning flicker jutsu, WOOH!! big friken deal speed alone doesn't win battle noobs.

And if they were SO classed why did the 4th raikage live from their other engagements which the 4th raikage told us about?

So plz that battle only was there to tell the minato fanboys that yes plz calm down ur man is till fast.


I do agree with the itachi stuff thoug, they both cant hurt each other, comes to down to stamina. But as we all know in a heat of a battle things don't go down to stamina anymore. it did in part 1 not in part 2, its moved to the next level the series has.

I feel like his personality closely resembles itachi in the sense that he never showboated or bragged about his abilities and only used the necessary amount of force to stop an opponent and did it intelligently and effectively. No doubt he is a great shinobi but when you are facing the nine tail it's going to be a tough fight. I think what he lacked in jutsu techniques he made up for with intelligence.
