I'm a bit surprised that so many people didn't notice it. Last chapter even ended with kid Madara not being able to reach the other side, while a few pages earlier he was able to shoot a bijuu bomb all the way to the other shore.

It never clicked for me until the end of this chapter, so I figured other people were probably still not getting it. It didn't really seem relevant until the end of this chapter though, because the stone skipping thing was actually developed a little more.
This was a great metaphore/comparison. It shows us how madaras power and intention has changed. From throwing a stone as a kid during war where the other side represented peace, to shooting a tbb across to initiate the exact opposite. Classic
