How Madara got the mangekyo sharingan?

so i was reading the new chapter when an idea popped into my head. when madara said he has 4 brothers and then said had, its obvious he doesnt have 4 anymore. my theory is that the uchiha elders know that they kill children in war, so they put madara and his brothers in a deathmatch sort of thing where the strongest would survive and the clan wouldnt have to worry about taking care of weak people. leaving 1 kid out. we know madara and his brother were the first to unlock the mangekyo sharingan so this could mean they have won. This is probably the reason why madara was by the river just like hashirama went there after they killed his brother. I know is far fetched but i mean this chapter didnt have anything mindblowing and there should be a reason why its there. what do you think? PS I DONT KNOW if they already said how he got the mangekyo and if they did can you tell me how

I think we're going to find out in upcoming chapters. This little flashback part is to show us the history between the clans, and how the rivalry ensued. So I do believe we'll find out. As for my guess, Madara couldn't find his **** in the shower, so he lost the plot.

I'm pretty sure the explanation of the Sharingan itself can be applied to the Mangekyo.. It was stated that trauma of loosing someone you loved creates it anyway. So when you lose the closest person to you (ie: brother, parent, or friend) It will give you the sharingan and then eventually mangekyo out of the hate that comes from the losses. If I understood the explanation right that is.

I feel like Madara was including himself in the 4 brothers band....it would make sense. Izuna and Madara would have killed their brothers in order to awaken the MS. It could easily have been an enforced ritual by the Uchiha Clan!

Maybe in a fight where he watched Hashi kill someone close to him? You don't have to kill your best friend. In Obito's case.. He WATCHED Rin die. In Itachi's case.. He WATCHED Shisui sacrifice himself. So far Sasuke is the only one who's killed someone so close to him.
