Yeah, I commented that in the original post. Kabuto who has access to ninja like Madara personally uses their abilities and implants them into himself because they're that useful.

I'm pretty sure Sakon and Tayuya talk about it whilst foreshadowing Kimimaro?

Kimi beat kyuubi chakra Naruto and drunken/1 gate Lee with ease. Then went CM2 and defeated Gaara.

I have to say I miss the Sound Four and Hidan + Kakuzu. They weren't given super powers like PS and Kamui but they were written and built up as such formidable opponents that they were feared nonetheless. That was good writing.

for part 1 they were monsters. combined, they defeated 2 jounin. keep in mind they were young just like naruto and neji. if they lived longer they'd surpass part 1 kabuto

The thing is, even tho each member of the sasuke retival team got mached up with the only one they could beat, when kiva, naruto and shikamaru teamed up against salon and tayuya, they won fairly fast untill kimmimaro shows up and started pwnin noobs.

That was a dramatic entrance for Kimimaro, it's a writing technique. Plus, they WERE inferior to Kimimaro, and were becoming time pressured because they had basically failed in their task.

and even then, the Sand Ninja only served as a cheap deus ex machina because it'd be unrealistic to have all 4 of the genin defeat their obviously more powerful opponents.
