Since some techniques and summonings are exclusive to certain cannon characters why would the person have to train under a sensei to learn these particular justu and summonings ?
Does that mean the sensei knows these techniques too ?
Its a bit odd and unnecessary. If your going to be someone with an already established set of justu they should all be available to that person from the get go.I can understand that justu and elemental training is needed for custom characters since they do not inherently have justu from the start and it would reduce the amount of people who try to have over the top OP justu when they rp.
Secondly,i have seen many bios (Especially when it comes to cannon characters)when it comes to nature affinities have all of them in the progress of being trained on or have them mastered already. No one ninja can learn all five elements unless they have the rinengan or some abstract and powerful kinjustu like Kakuzu.
Jonin which are the elite shinobi of any villages fighting force have 2 - 3 elements. The reason being is your born with one naturally. It doesn't mean your training is a breeze it just means learning that particular element will less strenuous since your already predisposed to thus said element.
This element is usually (Majority of nin anyway) learned when they reach chuunin levels.By the time they reach jonin status they will have trained and pushed themselves to learn a new element. And the most skilled have mastered them and or have trained themselves in a third element.
Anyway getting to my suggestions.
People role playing as cannon characters s should readily have access to all the techniques the character has been shown to use in the manga and not have to train with senseis to learn them.
The characters already know them so its a waste of time and the sensei's should not automatically know techniques that they do not have any business pretending to know.
Also cannon characters should not be able to learn any elements or justu outside of that persons skill and affinity range. Its just (for lack of a better word) completely ridiculous and contradicts the meaning of playing a cannon character.
This would save time and energy and better serve for a more faithful representation of the charters were trying to portray.
