Zetsu is made of half hashirama, and half madara, with the hashi half being all white, and the madara half being black with white sludge. The mere fact that his skin matches itama's is a coincidence, but it would make a nice wig.
Seriosly stop this, it's pointless, and we can still argue who wins in itachi vs minato.

It doesnt make any sense to say that Itama and Zetsu are related in any way, due to Zetsu's hair being green and not half and half.

The only reason why zetsu has a black half, is like you say, due to madara turning his (Madara) will, into a physical form.

Itama looks more like this guy.
