Theory: Mangekyou Sharingan - Complete Analysis

Introduction:
The Mangkeyou Sharingan is one of the more advanced forms of the Sharingan which appear when a bearer of the Sharingan is exposed to great trauma - hatred is brewed which neurologically awakens these eyes. The eyes grant the user with an ability(ies) that are extremely powerful but with the catch of overuse resulting in blindness.

Terminology:
MS- Mangekyou Sharingan
EMS- Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan
SS- Sharingan
KA- Kotakmatsuki
TSK- Tsukiyomi
AMA- Amaterasu
SUS- Susanoo

How does someone awaken the Mangkeyou Sharingan?

Well you must suffer from great trauma while already being a Sharingan user. It is not yet confirmed how a non-Uchiha like Kakashi awakened the MS.

How does someone with the Mangekyou Sharingan go blind?

It has been stated that the user goes blind due to overuse but I do not concur. The reason why I differ from this is because of Obito - most people say he isn't going blind because of Senju Cells but I beg to differ. Others have stated that he isn't going blind because one cannot go blind if they only possess one Mangekyou Sharingan but I would like to argue again.

I have theorized that the MS can be theoretically infinite but it depends on the hatred that the bearer possess. Itachi was going blind because he lacked the hate. One can argue, why did Madara start going blind? Hashirama stated that he loved his brother, possibly more than Itachi loved Sasuke so his love trumped his hatred. Or he could have just loved fighting and it started to die out.

Kakashi should be blind based on my theory then but no. I am under the belief that Kakashi gained the MS because it was inter connected to Obito - according to Tobirama, only an Uchiha can awaken the SS or MS so I think due to the close proximity between Obito and Kakashi during Rin death and because Obito awakened it, his other eye reacted by awakening itself.

How does a bearer get the powers from the MS?

There are many theories to why certain people got certain powers - one is random which is illogial and the second is that it is based on the bearers immediate abilities but Obito wasn't really good at anything so that wouldn't make sense.

I have theorized that the abilities are based on the feelings the bearer felt and the hatred and trauma that was experienced and what they wish for.

Obito - Ability granted from the MS is Intangibility and Teleportation. This is because he wish he was there to protect Rin and Kakashi but also because he wishes he can dispersal from the reality.

Kakashi - Ability is long range teleportation. This is because he wishes that he could have hid Rin.

Itachi - Main ability is TSK. This is because he wishes that he could live in a different reality where he could be with Sasuke or whatever.

Sasuke - Main ability is AMA. This is because he wants to rekindle the flames of hatred of the Uchiha.

Madara - Main ability is SUS. This is because he wants to rekindle the hatred of the Uchiha and create a new reality.

Shisui - Main ability is KA. This is because he wishes he could have changed the path of the Uchiha.

Ah nice catch. I'm convinced until otherwise said that Amaterasu, Tsk. and Susanoo are a trio. His hatred came from his hatred toward the Uchiha or something along that line.

I'll summerize: Ms doesn't lose it's light if the user has enough hatred. If that's correct, why was Sasuke going blind? He has shown the most hatred in the series.

I liked your theory. But some of the points weren't valid especially when you were talking about the dependence of MS powers on their will. Kakashi and Obito wanted the same thing anyway, that is, to save Rin. Maybe due to the same feelings Kakashi and Obito were able to awaken the Mangekyou together

crows right he was going blind due to over use of his eyes, but maybe itachi didnt use them as often as sauske. sauske did fight alot in a short amount of time though

Oh I never saw that thread from my memory. I had a brain fart ish kinda thing - I'm not sure if it was my own idea or if I remember reading that thread but I don't ... lol.
