Tobirama-sama Senju is the original creator of the Edo Tensei. Right? As the maker of a deadly forbidden jutsu, you would think he developed more than one way to over-ride being controlled by it...ya know...if the jutsu were ever used against him.

And it would seem that Hashirama got out of it with either his sheer brute strength, or something to do with his cells.

So we would think that Tobirama, the original maker of Edo Tensei, would also have a trick or two of how to also break it's possessive influence...right? Too bad that isn't the case. He in fact falls for his trademark jutsu not once but....twice.

Uhm, it's rather important to note that Itachi did not break the contract seal with Kabuto. He simply put a genjutsu upon himself, which took control over his body, so to speak. It was simply unbreakable for Kabuto. Like when Itachi tell Sasuke, he cannot stop. This is due to the genjutsu forcing him to move. Also when Sasuke throws shurinken at Kabuto, Itachi blocks them. He would never do that. They wouldn't have killed Kabuto, and Ita knew Kabuto could doge anyway. If Kabuto wanted to die, he'd make sure of it himself.

^ Tobirama most definitely knows the hand signs to release himself from Edo Tensei's influence.

^ Knowing this, Tobirama should of thought "I need to figure out an alternate way to breakout of Edo Tensei easily if I somehow can't use the hand signs to do so."

Last I checked Tobirama hadn't truly perfected Edo Tensei.

So does this mean Minato should be embarrassed since it seems Naruto has surpassed him in the usage of his own originally created technique?

Lol and ironically you mentioned the reasons as to why he couldn't get out.

Tobirama being the Jutsu's creator, obviously knows the handsigns madara used; however, he didn't even need them to roam free. Tobirama and Hashirama had the strength to ignore the commands of Edo Tensei so he didn't bother weaving the seals. Unfortunately, he failed to notice Orochimaru possessing his brother's DNA...the Senju DNA effectively stopped him.

So now the problem for Tobirama is that Orochimaru, unlike Kabuto, is closely watching his Edo Tensei Bodies. The moment he tries to form a handseal, Orochimaru will simply restrain him...so now I guess it all comes down to timing!

maybe tobirama didn't try further to break oro's control since hashirama actually wanted to start his story-telling with sasuke and co. I believe that he does have some tricks up his sleeve but for the time being he would remain silent...

One has to keep in mind when madara broke out kabouto was unable to restrain him because of izanmi.

Tobirama would be able to free himself if he weren't being controlled, just like Madara was only able to free himself once the edo tensei was already broken and he had a chance to perform the necessary seals.
