I read the thread and every single post in it before responding. Now that I brought up an enticing argument, you respond with "I'm not dealing with ifs on here" when in your very first post you stated who and how Sasuke WOULD (which by the way is just the same as if when being used in this way) died against IF (ah, there goes the same exact word you used in your first post) so and so didn't save him.
And, Sasuke survived the needles possibly because he didn't take them in the same spots it would have hit Naruto at. Their build is different. Haku's needles were aimed at specific points on Naruto's body, it only makes sense that if someone hops in the way, it would miss those same spots it would have hit if it had been the original target.
As for your thread, etc... I'm not arguing against it. Yes, Sasuke has been close to death several times, but doesn't matter if he's still alive. I just think it was meaningless to even try to point only one person out as if they were the only character in the series who should/would have died if not for this or that.
