[Question] Zoro and Luffy

Are Luffy and Zoro near equals? If they are, could you guys please give me some straight up info as to how they are?

Hmm, I would say Luffys stronger but Zoro could give him a brilliant match.

i dont think so..(sadly) zoros equal is sanji... still he is one of the most badass characters EVER created^^

however i must point out that i think during that moria arc zoro somehow has gone ahead of sanji, when he took on kuma and that pain from luffy and survived...we have yet to see his full abilities after the time skip^^

Luffy is stronger since he's the captain and it was basically the whole point of Doruki(I think that was it) during the CP9 Saga to show Luffy>Zoro>Sanji.

Zoro is the equal to Sanji but you can say that Zoro beats people that Sanji sometimes cant beat.

But Zoro can beat alot of people the Luffy can such as Smoker,Caeser Clown, Vergo etc..

They're equally tough. They both have incredible spirits and wills as well.
Zoro is really Luffy's weakness. Reasons why:
-Luffy can be reckless. So he would get sliced up if he were to make any stupid movements against Zoro.
-Zoro can cut through metal, but it probably wouldn't be so easy cutting Luffy's Armament Hardening, yet it still would be possible.
-Zoro has the instincts and reflexes to keep track of Luffy even when he's in Gear Second.

luffy is somewhat stronger then zoro but not by much. after the time skip its hard to say as luffy was trained by silver a man who was rogers first mate and zoro was trained by mihawk someone who rivals a yonkou (shanks) so both sould be tied up but we havent gotten to see zoro fight all out yet sense he keeps just owning his opponents with no effort

They are near equals, but Luffy is probably a bit stronger. At least now that Luffy has more skills with haki.

Really? Sanji held his own against Vergo so I would say Zoro would do some damage and Luffy would probably beat him.

Well, it's a continuous thing that Luffy fights the first strongest, Zoro fights the second strongest, and Sanji fights the third strongest. That could specify their power levels to say the least. Not to mention Luffy is the captain, and it wouldn't make much sense if he were weaker. Although I believe Luffy would win, Zoro isn't going down easy. Ultimately though, Luffy's various skill-set and techniques will overwhelm Zoro, he's just shown a lot more versatility, and attacks. Speed, power, haki, gears, he has it all.

Luffy logically because he's captain, even zoro commented that he better have strong haki or he'll have to step down from captain.

Zoro admthat Luffy is stronger when he used CoC against the Fishy's. And Sanji's difference to Zoro's is the same for Zoro's to Luffy's.

Why? They clearly are. Even law beat him and Zoro and luffy are really close to law. I'd they it take Zoro and luffy extreme diff to beat vergo.

What's your point Buggy is stronger than his crew...in fact I think Buggy is a lot stronger than he's been shown since if he was able to fight on the Pirate kings ship and survive the new world with the likes of Garp, Sengoku and who knows how many pirate rivals he's got to be stronger than he's letting on, otherwise it's just not logical at all to think he's that weak.
