Well the summon is inspired by Kishi's religion Buddhism thus the being with thousands of hands. I believe he can use senjutsu because of his Mokuton, it draws chakra from nature on it's own because he creates living trees which are fueled by chakra like all living things and is of course a part of nature O.O We should've seen this one coming...

I love how Kishi always use buddhist and shinto religions as ideas to come up with jutsus. The senpou Shinsuusenju Jutsu is based on a buddhist goddess name "Guanyin; the 1000 hands" a.k.a Goddess of Mercy. her purpose is to be able to constantly reach out to those in need. she is goddess, mother figure, friend, guide, and protector; to the philosophical she represents the divine force of compassion that not only pervades the cosmos, holding all together in harmonious accord, but also manifests in this world in various forms sometimes through the spiritual nature of one or a series of great men and women. The purpose is to protect people with love and compassion. The goddess also has an ability to seal evil, corrupted energy, and tainted beings and lock them up within her special container.

Hence, judging from the nature of this goddess, I think the Shinsuusenju jutsu will be used an an offense and defense at the same time to counter madara & kyuubi. And my prediction is that this is the jutsu that will seal and take the kyuubi from madara while also draining Madara's evil and foul chakra and stamina, thus deactivating his susanoo and will leave Madara vulnerable without Kyubi and Susanoo. Then Hashirama will be attacking non-stop in coop with the Shijusenju and that's how I think Madara will lose to hashirama.

Or maybe this is where the flower thing hooked to the Gedo Mazou was; maybe Hashi will seal Madara and Madara will survive despite being sealed away because he somehow absorbs some of Hashi's senjutsu

His sage mode is definatly not about frogs. It is either dragons or monkeys. Judging from his brothers student -Hiruzen- being taught by the Senju, can summon a monkey, the senju could probably summon him to.

Yes Hashirama is a sage and an AWESOME ONE AT THAT. I dont think he would need to be a Sage with a contract to any animal as lets remember: trees, forests, plants, are all LIVING things. And happen to be his unique Kekkei Genkai. So he is very much a Sage in the original sense of the word.

my only question on it though...was hashi just going sage to boost his power for that summon or was that an actual sage summon? because something of that magnitude and power would have to be its own little summon family if it was a sage summoning. And last i heard, there were just the three major animal groups that had sage mode and that thing clearly wasn;t a toad nor a snake/dragon...not to mention i believe it was made of wood so was it even a real animal or just a special thing 100% exclusive to hashi that he needed sage level power to summon and manipulate?
