Sasuke will not continue his resolution to destroy the village, it will render this whole thing pointless as regards to his character development because he will have relapsed back to his position in the kage summit arc. The Naruto/Sasuke final battle has been the most hyped up sht in the whole of the manga and now theres parallels comparing them to Hashirama/Madara, its obvious that their rivalry will be hyped up to the maximum height possible and that can only mean one thing: Sasuke will become another Madara, he will displace his anger on the shinobi world and resolve to either destroy it (becoming the complete opposite of Naruto) or go with the eye of the moon plan.
Naruto is the savior of the narutoverse, Sasuke must resolve to become its destroyer. Only that can do justice to their fckin hyped as sht rivalry and Sasuke as a realistic final villain.
