Gray's powers to me seem like they have depriciated rather than increased. In the begining of the series gray was able to create multiple objects with his ice make but now it seems like he only creates swords and spears. I feel like the ulimited swords move gray performed is somthing he could have preformed pre time skip it would have just deplited more of his magical powers. Also Gray seems to have lost his cleverness in battle. Pesonally i would of liked him to train rather than recieve second orgin due to that fact it would of probably did more for him. He could of learned Dynamic Ice-Make increasing his vertilaty with ice make magic. Gray would make an excellent s class wizard due to his matery over his magic. Gray has bronze and smarts but it tends to get overshadowed do to him not being protrayed to relize his true protential. If gray would of train he would have not only been able to use more magic but he would of got better aquainted with his magic probably to the point were he could make moving fist out of ice like jura did with rocks. Him training vs second orgin could have possibly been the deference from reaching s class level or just becoming somewhat stronger.
Mirajane to me seems to be underestimated due to her fights which from what i know she nevers fights at her fulliest like some other mages. during her fight with azuma she lost but what doesnt really make sense to me is why she didnt use any of the other stronger forms we have seen. I mean you would think if her sister was in trouble should would go all out like erza did but no she stayed in her regualar satan soul. Even with this why didnt she use some lighting attacks against azuma. Even if she had fought before why didnt she just change into her strongest form which probably would have been more effective once she relized her regular satan soul wasnt doing the trick. Also why cant she give jura a hard time or beat jura in a fight. Mirajane has been shown to be able to break through solid rock in her satan soul forms so why couldnt she break through juras. I am not saying that she has as much magical power as jura but her magic is perfectly suited to fight him to a draw or possibly win. Mirajane strength and speed alone should give jura a hard time. Jura is really strong dont get me wrong but some mages magic could definitly pose a problem for him. Such as those who have speed on thier side and those who could break through solid rock. From the feats i have seen i can honestly say that mirajane could give jura a good fight.(without any body being trolled everything based off of feats)
