this sage jutsu it just huge.

but madara did survived thia jutsu because madara stated
himself hashirama catches the 9 tails with the wood dragon.
(dont know how to post pictures)
but that shinsuusenju 1000 hand thing looks like the gedo mazo
only is it chained and are his hands broken.
i think madara captured the thing for his plans
1. he needed senju dna maybe was some insid of it
2. he needed it for some sort of offer to revive the juubi just
like how orochimaru needed a zetsu for edo tensei
3. they say hashirama had the best healing powers in nv maybe this thing could
keep madara in life when he was connected
so maybe its the gedo

sorry for my english let me know what you think

Hashi didn't summon that huge thing. He made that himself. Don't forget that Gedo Mazo is the vessel of Juubi and it was sealed inside the moon. M<adara summoned the mazo from the moon and got himself connected to it via mokuton powers.

Madara said something to the effect of "the same wood dragon that bound my kyuubi". That scene has already happened.

You are misunderstanding. Madara said that Hashirama used the dragon to tame the Kyuubi. He didn't say if he succeeded or not. Apparently he didn't. So he used Shinsuusenju. And we haven't even seen what happened in the end or what this thing can do so it's too early.
But it's not the same thing as the Gedo Mazo.

Maybe the Shinsuusenju is just a big shield.

More likely Hashi used that dragon jutsu again on the kyuubi after defeating Madara.

I don't know why people keep bringing up the shinsuusenju and gedo mazo being the same.
The gedo mazo is just the juubi's empty vessel and it was hidden in the moon by the
SO6P.
This theory implies that the gedo mazo was allready in the moon during the fight
of Hashirama and Madara.
And I because Obito was only able to bring the gedo mazo to earth due to the rinnegan he obtained.
(Something Hashirama doesn't have) I highly doubt it that the shunseesenju is the gedo mazo
