I don't mean to sound like a tough guy, but this is indeed how I always counter fear when necessary.
If you have anyone, fictional or not, that you look up to, then imagine that that person is watching you at a specific moment.
I don't only mean fighting, but talking to girls and presenting in front of people as well and things like that.
You wouldn't want to be belittled by your icon or role-model, would you?
My example: This slave rebellion leader named Spartacus is my icon. He's a brave and noble badass. He would shake his head if he were able to see me back down on a challenge, so I would want to make him proud to have a fan like me by overcoming that obstacle.
I know this is weird and random, but I don't care. I wanted to give some advice.
