Naruto has already been telling that he will die against Sasuke.

Hashirama considered Madara as a friend.- Naruto
Madara was arrogant- Sasuke

Hashirama defeated him and probably self-sacrificed seeing that his friend of his childhood died in front of him. ( Well that's what he thought.)

So even if we doesn't know how Madara tricked him we could say that If Naruto and Sasuke fight there will be a death.

And seeing these flashbacks in the flashbacks it's possible to see Sasuke cured instead of fighting Naruto.

Basically it's what Hashirama might trying to explain to Sasuke.

But it's also a plot twist because they are suppose to fight each other. Damn you Kishi

I don't think it will happen. I think the whole point of all of this is for them to try not to make the same mistakes Hashirama and Madara made.

Kishi announced recently that they would fight. But I doubt either of them die, this is a Shonen manga.
