Nagato of the unfunctioning sharingan?

Just a little question: Since we have seen Madara freely switch between the EMS and the rinnegan why couldnt Nagato do the same thing since he has madaras eyes?
Or is the rinnegan always activated for people who didnt awaken it like wth the sharingan? And if so, Nagato must have som big chakra reserves

The reason he cant is cuz he didnt have EMS before Rinnegan.......

Edo Madara hasn't swapped back to EMs. He used Ems with a clone to genjutsu Raikage.

It's just like the case of Kakashi. If he was given EMS, for example, he could gain rinnegan, but couldn't go back to regular sharingan

Well Nagato never knew he had sharingan he only thought he had rinnegan and that it was his eyes. He had no chance of knowing how to switch it since he wasnt the one with that ability you know
