Do we know who killed hashirama?

One thing I have noticed is that his appearance still has a bit of youthfulness left in him, and seeing as how the third hokage was resurrected as an old man, hashirama was obviously killed while he was still a relatively young guy. So, who the hell killed him? Even if it took an army to kill him, which it probably did, surely the man who landed the finishing blow must have had extreme pride in himself for taking out the god of shinobi. Hell, if it were me, I would make sure that every ninja alive knew it was me.

So i would say it only revived the third as an old man because that was when he had amassed his greatest knowledge of jutsu.
Madara died a very old man yet was revived as a young man, it doesn't matter how old you are when you die, you are revived at your best.
But to answer your question no it hasn't been explained, but i would say at a guess they will give him some form of Itachi disease related death.
Someone that powerful isn't allowed to be beaten it would break the plot.

No Hashirama was the first Konoha shinobi Kakuzu had ever fought. He tried to assassinate Hashirama, but Hashirama's Mokuton was too much. Though he did have the feat of surviving s battle with him.

Actually im pretty sure IWR revives shinobi in the state that they died. Madara being an exception since kabuto modified him.

Yeah you're absolutely right, thanks for that. I completely forgot about Madara, he definitely died of old age. And yeah I guess someone who is called The Professor would probably have been at his greatest when his wisdom was also at its greatest. I guess raw power wasn't his forte.
